"Region Not Available" messages are annoying and wrong!

Every single time that I've logged in today, I keep getting "The region you were in is currently not available, teleporting you nearby.." but then half the time I end up at my home location, which the SAME region the client claims is unavailable. The other half of the time I end up somewhere else. Either case I can click the landmark of where I was at in the same region as home and it takes me there with no problem.

Why can't the client figure out if the region is truly down or not???

Ok an update, looks like the problem might be related to the sim where my home and store are located. I couldn't teleport out of there. I couldn't pull peoples profiles up. I'm on the edge of the sim so I crossed over to the next door sim and all of a sudden I could teleport and pull up profiles. So this region not available problem is probably tied to that somehow, but no idea what I can do to resolve it.
