16 bit texture color depth improves FPS

Under my video card settings I set "Texture Color Deth" to "16 bits per texel" and my FPS jumped from 4FPS to 12FPS.

It apears that the default is to use the desktop Color depth. (In my case 32 bits.)

FYI:
Processor: 3Ghz P4
Video: Intel 82915G... Express Chipset family

The source of your problems is actually that you do not meet our Minimum System Requirements. Second Life only works with the GeForce family of graphics cards (made by nVidia) and the Radeon family of graphics cards (made by ATI).

Residents who are running the right hardware should not try this step, as it may result in error messages or additional problems.
