Can't click on objects

When logged in via my Windows machine (XP Pro SP2, AMD Athlon 2600+ 1.8GHz, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200), I can move around, chat, etc. but cannot interact with objects - both left- and right- clicks are ignored. Full screen / windowed mode doesn't make a difference.

On my first login, I was able to click the first "Click here" pedestal in Orientation Island, but nothing since then. Restarting the viewer / computer doesn't help.

Logging in from another computer, everything works fine (but my Mac doesn't have the stuff to run the game, 3fps isn't very playable).

Any suggestions?

In the words of the infamous AOL tech support, clear cache and if all else fails, reinstall.

I am assuming you can at least click on the menu toolbar across the top of your screen. To clear you cache Follow these steps

Ctrl-P > click the Network tab and click clear cache.
Relog and try it out.

Otherwise, reinstall can generally fix any errors a relog can't.

Hope this helps

Thanks... I tried your suggestions, but still no luck.

Cleared the network cache, no joy.

Reinstalled SL, still no joy.

Any other suggestions? I'm pretty excited about getting into SL, but without a mouse I'm pretty stuck.
