Refund required for 7 day trial cancellation

Well, I've tried to email support, but they must be swamped with emails as I've not heard anything at all in the last few days.

My wife signed up for a trial account and cancelled after one day as she is not at all interested in Second Life, being more of a 'shoot em up' mmorpg gamer.

We still got charged (I expect because we had the same CC and same IP Address and LL procedures seem to dictate this means it's the same person signing up again) so I would like a refund for her cancellation.

Her signup name was "Xarine Cinquetti".

You may need to look into changing procedures as it appears to be a thorn in the sides of a lot of people.

PS: There was no mention on the signup process that it had detected I already had an account and would thus be charged regardless and not be offered a free trial at all.

Hrm, Vincent, your forum profile says you joined last month. There should have been a red line of text on the first registration page stating:

From: someone
You already have an active Second Life account. You may not be eligible for current Second Life promotions.


If you and your wife are on the same credit card, there was then a yellow box on the Membership page (where you chose Premium or Basic) saying that we only allow one trial per ninety days, and that if you proceed, you will be charged. (I'll up the exact text up here in a bit when I can look it up.)

That said, the best thing is to call us or email [email]billing@secondlife.com[/email] (support takes longer due to volume) to see whether the billing folks think it's reasonable to provide a refund.

Nope. That text never appeared on the signup page.
I'd test it now but last time I tested a signup my account got locked, so I'd rather not or I will be charged a third time.
