Odd clothing issues

Ok I've searched through the forums and the knowledge based and I can't seem to find an answer to this odd problem I'm having.

For some reasons it looks like most (possibly all) of my clothing no longer fits properly on my avatar. For example, all of my shorts are now too long and, as a result, make my legs appear bulgy. Also the waistbands are all too low.

It also seems my shirts have similar problems and don't display right either. I can fix some of the problems on my mod-able clothing (like leg length) but not all of them.

Also this is NOT just a client side display problem since others can see the same issues with my clothing in-world.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong or any suggestions on how to fix it?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S. I'm not sure exactly when this started since I was away from SL for a while and only started getting back into it over the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Could something have gone wrong with your shape, either something's gotten corrupted or you accidentally changed it? You could try changing to a different shape and back to your own shape and see if it fixes the problem...

I thought of that and tried changing to a different shape. I even tried applying one of the default shapes and the problem was still there. This is really frustrating. One thing I haven't tried yet is to see if new clothing also has the problem.

I noticed a shirt I was wearing yesterday started looking like I had sleeves set to 0. (>_<;)

You know that noobie avatar look where the top arches like some unnaturally formed bra. I went into edit appearance to see, and it popped back to normal. I went to look at the slider and it was at 50. I got out of edit and it falls back to the 0 looking form. I was just wearing that shirt the day before without trouble! (>_<;)

Maybe this is part of the same bug that's killing the skirt layer. Or even the one that elongates some shorter shapes. It looks like the shape/appearance settings are getting corrupted in many ways lately. (=_=)

Well, on a whim I installed SL on my work computer and logged in (shhh. don't tell). It has a much more capable graphics card so I tried loading some of the clothing that were drastically out of whack and they seem to look fine. I don't know if they are indeed ok since I didn't have anyone else in world look at it this time.

Does anyone know whether the local client rendering has anything to do with how others in world see your avatar? In other words, can my client be screwing up my in-world avatar appearance? If so, I think that might be the root of my problem.

Well I know clearing the cache doesn't help in my case. I'm just wondering if I'm screwed until I get a better laptop.

This is when a web cam pointing over your shoulder comes in handy :)
