All textures striped/funky on body - Help!

Ok, I hear this is a common problem but so far all the solutions I've been given aren't working.

I hope someoen can help me find something that works, as I'd like to stick around .

Anyway, the issue is that my clothes and face are all screwy. When I open up the apperance windows, everything appears fine. However, as soon as I close it, all my clothes messup (they turn into random lines or something - including shoes or anything else I place on as clothing), and my face is all messed up (line of mouths going up the front of it).

This starts from the moment I login to the game, relogging does nothing. It is not an underpower or overheating graphics card, it happens even if I've just turned on my computer and all temperatures are in the "green" area.

I have the aboslute latest graphic drivers available, installed, didn't fix it.

The whole "adjust something on your body - save all - close" doesn't work either.

My system:

Win XP Home Edition - fully updated
Nvideo Geforce 6800 GT OC - 81.91 (latest drivers, can't remember the number exactly)
786 or something mb of Ram
2.8 AMD Athlon Chip

Any other suggestions of how I might fix it? Or is it a lost cause and I can never see the cool clothes .

New Resident of SL and hoping not to have to move out

It ay be related to he gaphics card bin overclocked might try resetting your speeds back to stock and see if that makes a difference. I tried overclocking my 6800 ultra and it just won't do it correctly in SL, everything else works ok.

Also, is it just you or can others see you fine?

I have had this problem also. Though for me it goes away after a fiew min. I think that maby SL is encountering an error in DLing the texture or decoding it. If it dosent go away with time ya try and see if it is effecting others.. If it isnt you might want to look into possiable network issues.

I've only had this happen once or twice, so I don't know if my suggested solution will work, or if something else fixed it - but here goes anyway.

1. Make sure you have saved your clothes, shape, skin etc etc etc.
   
2. Wear a completely different folder - something like Little Red Riding Hood (in the library part of your inventory)
   
3. Without waiting for everything to rez - go to preferences, clear your cache, and restart SL.
   
4. When you get back in you should see all the clothing in grey.
   
5. Wait for it all to rez
   
6. Now, here is the important step: Wait some more. After a few seconds (or minutes), your av should go all blurry, and then your entire look rezzes in again. Not piece by piece, but the whole thing. This has forced your client to "bake" the new textures and upload them back to the servers. Now everyone else also sees you as Little Red.
   
7. Put your normal stuff back on - Once again you should see everything come down one by one, wait a few secs, everything goes blurry, everything rezzes down all together one last time - and now you should be fixed.

I didn't OC the graphics card, that is the way it came "stock" from the box. I have no idea how to underclock what the factory sold it as .

When I asked in the online help she stated that others would probably be seeing me all messed up as well, but I've not been around anyone to ask (apparently whereever it is I'm going to shop noone else is really there...lol). But I shall try and find that out.

And then Ben I shall try your suggestions and post here, assumign I do that right .

actually Ben I THINK that did it yea!!

The face was still funny for a bit, but only one of the "presets" did that so I changed it and went back to the "new save all" thing and that seem to put it right.

So hopefully...that's permanetly fixed! Woots!! See you in the life!
