Ok, there's one particular sim I visit regularly where my friend has land. It's not run by anyone dodgy and has a pretty high traffic level so I'm sure this is an isolated issue.
For the past couple of weeks whenever I TP there, my router crashes. I've repeated this problem 20 or so times in succession and I have no other problems with hangs/crashes or any sort in SL or have ever had.
Basically, I land, the DSL drops, then re-initializes, then the router locks up so hard I cant even ping it. Cycle power time. It's a Draytek Vigor 2600 with the latest firmware.
I don't have any other problems with this router, (I've been using it for 3 years or so and it's bombproof). This is just very odd and totally repeatable.
