Stand on the land, click World menu > About Land, and you'll see a 'Buy Land' button. Another way is to right click the raw terrain and a 'Buy Land' option will appear in the pie menu, but there's not always raw terrain to click on. And beware btw! Many parcels listed in the land sales list are on private estates, and the free 512m2 tier associated with your premium account is not applicable there. You could end up paying an *additional* monthly charge if you make that mistake. Ideally, you could do with First Land for $L512...but it's not so easy to come by at the moment. Really, be careful to avoid private estates. Read all the terms before agreeing to the sale. Make sure there is no covenant. Double & triple check that it's mainland.

yeah i think i figured it out. but now im scavenging through the map clicking on every damn Sale sticker.. trying to find the ones that say 512m2... but theyre all $9,999 and above. is saw one for 25k. I did see one for 5k tho, thats the cheapest i saw. when i go to search for land in the search panel, it finds a lot [in my price range that i set] but im afraid of getting caught up in whatever u said. i didnt really get it, except ill be paying more.. i dont wanna do that, but i dont know how to avoid it. speaking of the searching for land.. there 3 colums.. the total cost, and L$ per sq m, and one that says area... what is this one? cuz i searched for 512 and its showing 1024 and 2048... help?

Pooptart, as a new member who hasn't owned land yet, you are entitled to extremely cheap 'First Land'. It only costs $L512 for 512 sq. metres, but unfortunately it's very difficult to obtain at the moment. (If you'd known this before upgrading to premium...you might have waited it out in the hope that more becomes available.) Just bear in mind that if you buy regular, far more expensive land (and land prices are obscene at the moment), you are no longer entitled to that very cheap 'First Land'. Also, to ensure you're buying on the mainland, I believe this is the way to do it: - Click the World menu.
- Select About Land.
- Click the 'Covenant' tab.
Provided it says Estate Owner: (none) and "There is no Covenant provided for this Estate", I think that means it's mainland (and therefore safe for you to buy). Despite buying and selling a lot of land in my short time here, I'm not 100% certain about that though, so hopefully somebody will correct me if there's a flaw in my identification method.

Pooptart, the Lindens Historically had a queue of first land parcels ready for sale. When you do the search (and it sounds like you've got it right), about 10 First Land parcels would show up. The Lindens have fallen behind on setting up First Land plots, and they've become scarcer. I suppose its because of the huge influx of new folks. Complaints have been made. (see LINDEN ANSWERS in the forums for some examples) and the Lindens promise a solution. But heed Dillon's advice. Don't Buy any Land Until After You Have Bought Your First Land for $512 Lindens. You can always RENT, while waiting for First Land, if you want a house or apartment. If you have figured out the difference between mainland and private islands, and can afford private island land, then perhaps you might buy land on a private island. But-except and until you buy your 'First Land' on the mainland-- Do Not Buy any other Land on the Mainland, or You Will Lose Your First Land Rights. If you are at all in doubt, pass on the land.
