I just re-formatted my computer (wiped my hardrive and re-installed windows) and now second life is getting these ugly lines on everything. Like little staircases on flat surfaces, its really weird. Im using a Geforce 8800 GTX, Second life looked fine before my re-format. I installed my Video card drivers and tryed re-installing SL. SL is on the highest settings and I experimented to try to fix this bug or w/e

I think what you are experiencing is aliasing. It is one of the big problems with computer graphics in general. Computers cant make slanted lines, they can only make stair steps due to the way pixels are made (think small Legos or needle point) There is a thing called antialiasing which is an attempt to hide the stair steps by blurring the edges. This works pretty well but it loads down your computer if it gets set too high though. You can go to your graphic card's control pane(right click on your desktop then Nvidia control panel) then go to your 3D settings (Manage 3D settings) and set your antialiasing up to 8xQ and set your mode to override any application setting. Your card can certainly handle max settings but it drops your framerate a lot for little gain. I can only suggest trying it out with different settings for optimal results.
