I was playing the game and files slowly got corrupted or damaged. Now it's at the point where when I start it up, it crashes as soon as I get connected. I was in the middle of something in game. It says something about C:\$Mft being corrupted. As well as the Second Life.exe. Could someone help me? Cause I can't even log in now.

I apologize if this problem was stated before, I don't go on the forums much and haven't read anything as of yet. I need to get back on in order to finish something of mine.

Also, I even redownloaded Second Life and installed that. That's when it got worse. I don't know what's up with it.

I've installed and uninstalled constantly! Restarted my computer, everything. It's also saying stuff about my cache being corrupted. It said to run Chkdsk. So I do, and now that's giving me trouble. It finds something corrupted and then just shuts down itself. I have no clue what's going on. I went off for a bit, got back on and it just started doing all this. What do I do? I really don't have time for this, I need to get on.

Virus, check for one, if you cant find it use a different scanner, and make sure your definitions are up to date. MFT stands for Master File Table. What it’s used for is helping the operating system get to retrieve the files on the hard drive. For example, it contains file permissions, the name and size of the file, the date and time it was created and the date and time it was modified. Seeing as that is now being corrupted it either means A) you have a virus or B) your hard drive is failing and about to die

Probably the latter based on your description. Backup important files to a CD or USB drive immediately. Remember to thoroughly scan that data after replacing your hard drive and reinstalling your system.
