you think LL would do something right about now...SL is showing no packet loss on my end (near the SL clock)...under help im showing 1.7% packet loss overall...im getting 600k upload, 8mb download regular speeds, yet i cannot walk, cannot move, cannot do a simple search...cant tp...
so much for the grid update they did recently. and all we know is SL will be down tuesday for hardware upgrades, but nothing beyond that.
im thinking its gonna screw us even more...cant believe i pay monthly for this service...

URGENT ! ALL I do is LAG too ! ( pakect loss? )
12-04-2005 16:19
I got all systems requirements.............. Athlon 2400+, Windows XP, about 500 MG ram, NVidia 500 GeForce , and a flash cable connection of 4 megabytes....etc, ect But since the new version of SL started, all I do is lag, lag, lag and freeze. The connection levels on top right are most of the time in RED! My avatar walks frame by frame.............views take time to get on focus............what should be wrong with my pc or is it with Second Life?? Help I am from Brazil, São Paulo, got a great service of cable.
Now I read that thing about " packet loss............." My connection sign on top right is always yellow or red...........that has comething to do with it? How would a fix it?

I've been having the same problem. I just recently bought a computer so I can meet the requirments and play Second Life, well when I log onto SL, I've been getting lag so bad that I can't even play! Whats the deal with this?!

Just a thought, but wouldnt it be nice if the people who made the game provided a spec sheet for an optimal computer to run their game..
Like, an actual list of pure components that provided the best combination for Secondlife?
Some people might think its silly spending hundreds of dollars on a computer just to run a single "game".. but when you consider the amounts of money some peolple make/earn in SL - spending $500 or $600 on a computer to run it right.. its nothing
For instance, if you get a sim, its like $1000, then $190 a month to pay for it? My figures may be slightly off, but you get the point.. and I for one, would by a PC for that purpose - especially if LindenLabs themselves had said "hey, we've been looking around and we think these components are the best combination for playing secondlife - try and keep X memory free on the HD..."
anyway, it'll never happen.. but Damn wouldnt it be handy!

After seeing foot shadows get better after two+ years (and I wasn't even here at the beginning), I have hope. I encourage you to keep believing in what you believe in! Whatever that spec sheet is, it'll likely have to be updated a few times a year.
