Framerate Lag / More RAM?

Windows XP Pro
1.60 GHz Intel Pentium M Processor
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 PRO Turbo Graphics Card
768MB RAM

For a year, this setup has ran Second Life with almost no problems. Lately, though, I'm getting a ton of framerate lag (as defined by LL: The video is jerky or stuttering, pauses for long periods of time, and everything stops moving (including my avatar)).

When I've been playing for a while, Windows tells me that it's low on Virtual Memory and is increasing it.

The easiest thing for me to upgrade, obviously, is the RAM. Would an increase to 1.5GB (a doubling of the RAM) help with my problem?

yes probably, the biggest performance increase ive ever seen has always been due to ram

just make sure you get the right kind for your computer

I've always bought from crucial.com, and they are easy to find the correct memory with.
