i've been logged in world for a good 2 hours now and it seems two of the 5 illusion shops have vanished, along with a lot of furniture. now granted, i realize it might just be some lag in rezzing as everything just will NOT rez for me.

i guess i'm wondering if its actually gone or not rezzing. if its gone i need to drop copies fast - it looks horrible and when ariel logs in she's going to freak out - lol.

It seems to me that 1.7 has already caused more problems than any other version number. :(

OK here goes: On Sunday I bought and placed a 400+ prim sculpture by Starax. Today, after the upgrade - is gone. Poof. Nada. I turn off surface patch etc to check if it sunk - fly to the roof of my sim to check if it suddenly had filled with virtual helium. Nada. Check inventory. Nada. File bug report and IM Concierge. Waiting for response - but:

Had already checked trash... loads of stuff there - have been clearing a bit today. Plus the usual "Object"s in there........... I'm a stubborn git. So I start pulling everything from there. Even stuff named right lol.

One "Object" comes out............... as a broken, unlinked mess - consisting of no less than 1458 prims.Damn near crashed my client just rezzing the pile. PARTS of the statue... which I KNOW I never deleted - mixed up with jumpled up parts of things I deleted today during the day...

Also... the fun doesn't stop here... at coordinates 0.0 SW corner of sim, I earlier on deleted something I *thought* was prims misplaced in a clumsy moment... I always hunt such prims down - but hey, no one is infallible. So I delete. 298 prims it said. Odd. A lot of prims to misplace... And I delete. And I delete. Wont go away. So I relog. And presto, its gone. Ghosting, I think.

Now, I fly past and particles down there catch my eye. Huh? So I check. Particle halos I use for lights and ATM's. In the other end of sim. These are at 0,0. This time nothing to select - so they are still there..... oh and as I post this, some of the halos have now changed to waterfall mist. This is getting spooky.

Is my sim disintegrating before my eyes????????????

For the record I just spent *7 weeks* building and preparing the sim for opening......... I will *not* endure if it all just falls apart.........

Anyone else with these problems??????

The sim corner phenomenon I think is a result of the fact that sims literally piece themselves together prim by prim from those coordinates. If you get back into SL after a crash or something you can sometimes watch the pieces zip across the sim into place (kinda like the wierd effect you get when you attach stuff these days). When I owned a sim, I often found that there was a bunch of crap seemingly left over at 0,0. In fact they were ghosts, because on the occasions I spotted a very obvious and unique piece, I'd go check out of sheer paranoia and the real thing would be there.

This continued past the supposed fixes on ghosting, so I don't have any reason to think it's any different these days, even though I haven't owned a sim for months.
