Constant crashing since update :(

Since the update I've been crashing constantly at random. I can be doing nothing but standing still and just crash to desktop. It happens every 20 mins or so and it's annoying me to death.
Specs:
Windows XP Home Edition
Dell Inc. Dimension XPS
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU
Any ideas?

Yep, I've got the crashing thing too. No warning, nothing special seems to be required for it to happen. Just happened again, my AV was floating in the air, not doing a thing.

Same problem here, but I have noticed I seem to be airborn for it to happen. I've never crashed in the game before, every, until today... I've crashed about 6 times so far.

Update on my crashing, I do believe after crashing a MILLION times, that I can stand find in the sky in Caliente City, UNTIL I focus on a texture... like a advertisement for an outfit, that isn't totally rezzed. I can walk through the city and be fine, but when I focus my camera on a texture on a prim... crash city!!
My specs are pretty similar to Torrid's, a Dell Dimension 8300, Windows XP, a gig of ram,
and I'm running a Radeon 9800 Pro. Not a computer that has issues with this game, it has always ran it well.

Please make sure to use the crash reporter to best advantage to let the Second Life folks know about the problem, also try to file a good bug report when you log back in. Both quantity and quality count in bug report writing.
While writing this post my avatar in Shipley got turned phantom (i.e., partial disconnect), I guess it time to do some snooping now that I can fly through everything.

I haven't been able to log in since last night and i only joined 3 days ago  Time now 19.44hrs GMT ive spent best part of today trying to log in but continued with the crashing bad packet loss and being logged off the server. I tried to do an reinstall with v1.7 but had to have the update and WOW suprise suprise still no joy!! Ive just got settled in SL got an annual account, got some land made some friends and the patch has defeated me again. Please SL ....... SORT IT OUT YOU MUST READ THESE FORUMS! many Thanks and Happy Xmas to all, just in case im still unable to log in and hold the New Year Party invites 22.00hrs I downloaded the fix thanks Linden  |
