I have 1 song I want to put on my land. Can this be done? If yes how do I do it?

If you have broadcasting software and a URL from which others might tune in to your stream with a media player like winamp, you can put that same URL in the Media settings page of your land controls.
I suspect this is not the case, that you're not set up to DJ, which is not a short answer proposition. One can import 10 second snippets of audio into SL, just as one uploads textures or pictures, then you'd activate it from your inventory. I guess I have to ask did you just want the one song playing over and over constantly or did you just wanna play with the option? _____________________

ok, leaving aside the aural damage (hehe), if you only need 10 seconds of sound, I'd look up the stuff on formatting the music for upload, or someone will undoubtably chime in here, I can't help you with that I'm sorry.
Otherwise, it sounds like you really want to be your own, single song radio station which might be prohibitively expensive. Broadcasting software can run about 200 USD and then renting a stream host (depending upon how many folks you think will be listening) could run another 25 - 50 USD a month. I'm guessing this isnt' what you're looking to do. Folks used to create song discs, before streaming audio arrived in 1.4, they were objects that played the collected 10 second files in order so that one could hear the whole song. It's not perfectly smooth but might be a more feasible method for you. Plus it's portable. However, everyone in earshot will also be listening for better or worse. you can put a mp3 file on a free webhost and just point your music url to
http://www.whatever.com/audio.mp3 and dudet ez with the fonts its nothing new and makes it hard to read  (heck im me and ill host it for you) |
