Problem with seeing my avatar

I've baffled a few Live Help people so far... And a few visitors with this problem.

I seem to be able to login to SL just fine... But however no matter what I do I can not get my avatar in view. A few times I could get it to work by trying to move around, but now no matter what I do I can't get my avatar to show up. I've tried updating things, I've tried reinstalling a billion times (which used to work for a few times), I've tried to even switch avs... Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Intel right now with a GeForce 2 FX 5800 (I think.)

1. Try changing your avatar vertex setting in preferences.
2. Try changing your set/active group.

I tried the first one already... How does one change their "set/active group"?

right click yourself and choose "groups". might be hard to click yourself if you can't see yourself though heh. it's in the menus too, maybe View > Groups? somewhere up there. when you get the groups window click a different group name then click "activate". it helps some invisible avatar issues apparently.

I was trying to help this lady earlier today (with no success). She has no packet loss and recent nvidia drivers. It reminds me of the teleport situation when you end up in the limbo.

I don't think this is the same problem as people have with not seeing some avatars, because if such invisible avatar goes to appearance mode it becomes visible. I did this with no result for Aibrean. OTOH, I was in a tringo game today and absolutely couldn't see the host's avatar, no matter what tricks I've tried, so who knows what's going on in SL.
