I seriously propose a rollback of the previous version of SL. The current version is totally crap and the "improvements" are very small compared to the amount of things u messed up with it. Horrible lag, constant disconnects, messed up pie menus, loss of banlists.... do we need to go on?

So please roll back the old version of SL and test the new one properly before you present it to us. Last time i checked i wasn't part of the SL test team so please stop using me like i am.

Or you could download the preview and become part of the test team.
Not like they listen to the complaints about new feaures for it. I watched whole threads spring up in the Preview forum about the Flash effect for the new snapshot. People hated it, it hurt their eyes, three weeks ago.
*Is Pro-Rollback*
I don't preview because I don't wish to depress myself sooner than nessessary.

Rofl... sounds like a good idea, i'd love to become tester of a company that does not listen to their testers. Allways wanted that!!!!

I completely agree! The new version is terrible.

This version:

1. Was clearly not tested enough. (see below) Since I began in 2nd life in December, this update has caused the most problems for me, by a huge margin. This is the first time I've been moved to complain about one!

2. Contained virtually no improvements that will impact most users in a possitive way. I read the list of changes and went: "...um...we were down all day for *this*?"

Not only do I agree that we should roll back until this update is properly tested, I suggest we no longer have weekly updates. The "world" goes down for much of a day, then we spend several days fixing the problems, then the whole frustrating process starts again.

Can we please have a couple weeks of stability before a new "improved" update is forced upon us? And let's have more thorough testing before these updates are released. Several bugs are immediately obvious upon trying to build anything or upload animations.

I completely understand how complex this system is and that things can go wrong. But since so many people essentially "live" in here, we need a little more care taken when changing things.

This isn't as bad as 1.9.1/1.10, but at least 1.10 had significant new functionality. This one... the new functionality is at least half the problem!

I haven't seen anything as pointlessly bad since 1.7.

A rollback would be GREAT. Seems like there are so many problems/bugs now that it would take sooo long to fix them all.

I'll add in my agreemtn with the sentiment the thread starter voiced and also will point out that taking it up with linden does not help since they will ALWAYS blame our PC's instad of puting the blame where it lays..coding in intested waters and not testing the releases long enough under full load, and most DEFINTIELY not thoroughly. I say we start a petition to them asking for 90 day full stress beta tests on thier own gird..under full load on a stand alone connetion toally seperate from the main grind since that is the ONLY way you will ever get a full test or even a close approximation of one. I am sure we could ahve lasted without Mozilla while some bugs that have been around since version 1.7 got fixed instead of pushing to shove another newer more unstable upgrade down our throats.

I agree there is nothing redeeming about this update and the issues it has caused have made building extremely frustrating if not impossible.

I'm new and I talked my boyfriend into coming to play too. He surprised me and bought a premium account right off the bat. I had assured him it was a nice game and didn't seem buggy (hadn't come to these forums yet). If you roll back too far, his character might not even exist, right? But then if you don't roll back he's going to be so livid about all the bugs I'll be afraid to be near him. I think rollback and reimbursements for items lost would be the proper thing to do. Oh and definitely tack on some free time to make up for the downtime.

If you don't have a test server, you really need to get one and test, test, test until new updates and bug fixes work properly. Oh, and forget about bulk updates, clumping everything into one big patch.....best to do them 2 or 3 at a time and see how they behave on the "live" server full of people.

I vote for bug fixes before new updates. This is something every game I play seems to have a problem with the devs understanding. We'd rather have one bug fix than 25 new updates.

I'll add my vote too.. I got 150 IMs about scripts no longer working.. and even the patch from 1.11.0.9 to 1.11.0.11 broke them just in a different way. This stuff should be tested. And we don't pay to be testers thats why u have staff that we pay for.

I've seen so many threads requesting a rollbback to a previous version, it made me think of a question.

Has Linden Lab ever done a rollback before? Even once?
