When I tried to install the 1.8.1 update, I had a nasty crash. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hmmm... was this an installation done via the autoupdate or a fresh download from http://secondlife.com/download ? My autoupdater has long crashed (makes some error message with a very funny and long file name) and I've not figured a way to fix it yet, even with uninstalls and reinstalls. I usually just download the whole installer and go from there.
