I have been having trouble ever since the new upgrade. I am using the following system.

Dell 8400
2 ghz RAM
3.4 ghz chip
250 ghz hard drive
Nvida GForce 6800 Graphics Card with 512 megs of RAM
DSL Connection at 1 mhz up and download

It seems that everyplace I go in SL with a few exceptions eveything is extremely slow (real bad lag). It is so bad I can't move or type in the chat area or in IM.

Could some please tell me the best settings in SL Preferences that may improve the performance.

Everything worked great and very fast response prior to the upgrade. I have did a complete clean up of computer, deletion of temp files, defrag, the works....still no improvement.

It is taking the fun and enjoyment of of the game. Very hard to communicate with my friends.

Have you tried completely uninstalling SL and installing the full version from the web page? I have had to do that the last year for every major update.
