Not sure if anyone else got this. It just happened after being in my shop for a few minutes. I was about to upload an animation and was previewing it before upload. And then....

You're running win98? Try upgrading your os, that should cure the problem

thats windows 2000 pro, which is fully supported by SL, totally up to date against XP, (i use it all the time) and actually a wise choice, it uses less ram and cpu power for goofy wizards and purdy taskbars

anyways i have never seen this error with secondlife, but i would start by re installing the SDL's ... problem is which version of VC++ is it crashing out on

or maby an ezier option, reinstalling windows over the old install, just make shure to update everything before attpemting to run any programs

edit:
i said totally up to date against XP but i forgot they blocked IE7 from win2kp, eventho i beta tested it on my 2k machine (which if M$ is listening, thats so shitty of you) but no big deal i use firefox anyways

edit edit:

it just poped in my (sleepy) brain that it could be XP with the "classic" display mode on, either way its not 98, sl wont run on 98 ive tried

edit edit edit:
infact that is xp with classic windows option turned on (the start menu icons are different in xo and 2k

I doubt that it has something to do with the environment. Most likely a problem with the program itself. Which version is that?

LOL! W98? W2000? hardly. More like XP Pro. I just hate the frickin' "kiddie Coloring book" look most people seem to prefer. :p

Last version of 2000 I had was "Windows Server", but thats hardly an option for gaming, etc. ;)

And you were right Osgeld- Win XP Pro sp2. My fiancee runs W2K Pro and is happy with it. AND- SL runs on it too.

Vista Ultimate only when SL works with it, and MS gets a patch out (naturally I'd be turning off Aero. Just more system hogging Eye Candy)

It's their new "update". Sometimes I use voice. Often I dont.

So far I havent had any issues with any release of SL. This was the first Hard Crash. No warning, nothing. Just Quit. Not even a lil' scream.
