Okay, here's the deal.
First time I booted up SL, it told me I had an out dated motherboard driver. I updated it using the link that was provided, and I booted it up again.
The game crashed the second it was done loading.
I tried restarting, changing my monitor settings, everything. It would never work.
I also meet every system requirement.
Any help?

Could you post your system specs?

Windows 2000, service pack 4, 256MB of RAM, graphics card is capable of supporting 32-bit color....
Um, where do I find a sheet that has -all- of my system specs? I'm bad at computers x_x

Hehe.. If you have Direct X..

Start menu, Run, dxdiag, ok.. and copy the stuff you think is relevent from there..

256MB isn't a lot of ram.. Its JUST the minimum requirement.. I have trouble with that amount myself.. And I'm told my graphics card is quite decent..

My computer is better then I thought.
736MB RAM
SiS graphics card (32MB)
SoundMax Digital Audio sound card
1.80ghz Intel Celeron Processer
That's all that makes any sense: I can't highlight any of the information there, so I can't just copy+paste it all

Minimum Specs:

# Computer: Pentium III 800MHZ or higher, with 256MB RAM or more
# Operating System: OS: Windows XP (sp2) / 2000 (sp4)
# Video Card: nVidia Geforce 2 (32MB RAM) or higher, or ATI Radeon 8500 (32MB RAM) or higher
# Internet Connection: DSL, cable modem or LAN (256kbps downstream or higher)

So, not sure it SL supports your make of video card or processer.. But can't be sure.. Someone really Tech Savy will come along in a minute..

No clue why we are seeing a bunch of SIS video card users trying to play SL all of a sudden, it’s not compatible. SIS video cards dont work with SL. Period. Even if it did work it would eventualy crash, they just arent good cards. If you can upgrade it then you will be good.

Okay, thanks. Upgrading to a GeForce 4, they're only 30 bucks.

If you want ripple water you need least gf5200/9500ati (not recommended) , gf6600 card i would recommend there.

gf4 cards are dx8.1 / new effects SL use need dx9

Celeron Processer i wouldnt recommend on SL, SL eats your cpu for breakfast so to speak.

im crashing nonstop aswell - it tends to be sim dependant as my alts are free to move round but when i moved one into a certain sim (paris - next t oginko city) it crashes - actually it disappears with no warning at all - the sl client goes 'pop' n its gone

its also not computer probs - 3 pcs - diff specs - all dont work with the alts stuck in the sim but the other alt is free to move

this only happened after the system rolling update

i think 30$ to play the game (and many more) is a good attitude :) altho beware of the MX series, get a FX or a 5 series for 30$ more.

based on 1 website for a 5200 with 256mb of ram @ 65usd$ or as low as 2.22 a month lol
