Hello everyone,

Apologies for the simplicity to this question but it is not really my thing.

I own a small bar which employs some dj's, they currently play and approx 25 people can listen at any one time, otherwise they seem to get disconnected. They use their own streams.

One of my friends set me up a basic stream which i run through shoutcast from my home pc which can support 6 listeners at a time.

What website can i go to, or where can i access something which is going to allow me to inrease this number to approx 40 listeners at any one time?

Simple answers and simple websites appreciated.

Thanks

Try http://startlogic.com. I don't know if they support shoutcast stream servers, but it's worth a try, and you get a lot of bandwidth and storage for the buck. They have a few good competitors as well.

Hi Randy,

As Learjeff says, you simply need to rent a shoutcast server relay. Then you can offer the DJs the stream details when they perform at your bar.

If you visit my store in Mauve, there is a notecard vendor explaining how streaming in sl works and you can even rent a monthly server from the store too!

Thanks, Jamie -- I'd like to learn more about it myself, so I'll be visiting.

Randy, at startlogic, you need a virtual server account to get shoutcast support, minimum $30/mo. Too rich for my blood! Hopefully we can find something cheaper for just one or two feeds, especially given that not many folks would be listening at any one time so the bandwidth requirement is very low.

Cheers

I use a relay from jamie,

100 listeners at 128kbs!

He has great promt service and has been very helpfull as well.
I could not find anything lower cost than this and he takes Linden for payment :D

and its cheaper then a 25 listener at 24kbs relay as well!
