Hi ummmm, I dunno, Second Lifers!!!

I'm trying to install and load SL.

I at first had a video driver issue.....SOLVED YAY!!!!!

Now to the problem I try to start i go to what i believe is the login screen and get the error Unable to initialize communications.

Please uninstall and reinstall before attempting to relogin....I've done this..and it's STILL not working...help please...:)

I've waited patiently for over 12 hours for some kind of response here.

I normally play WoW, but this "game" really intrigued me. I'm getting bored with MMORPGs, so I thought that this would be a really nice change.

Seems this "game" is still in beta testing or something from what I've been reading. While I don't have a premium acct. I can't say that I'll ever get one if I have the same issues as everyone else is talking about.

I'll actually call LL when I get home and I'll post what i find out.

well, i'm in email with LL now.....they said it was my firewall most likely...and gave me like 1020 ports to open.

Instead I went into my firewall and told it to allow secondlife, which any other time i've had firewall issues with programs that would clear it up.

That didn't work. So, I asked a computer geek friend, and we were talking and still are...after I talked to him, he pinged them a few times and well, said there was no ping...LOL

I'm not sure whos issue this is...maybe i should try to ping them and see what I come up with.

I can't wait in a couple days I'll be doing they're customer service survey and will let them have it....but right now I am STILL in limbo as to this game.

Do you have a router or on wireless? Also what country are you in?

I HAD a router, but since my other computer doesn't work ATM I removed that possible problem.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times.

I can play World of Warcraft, and while others complain about lag I almost never get any.
I can play EQ 2 with a bit of lag.

I believe the problem is on their end...but like any company that deals with other peoples computers, they always blame the user.

Well that answers two questions.. but some countries have issues connecting to SL because of where its based.

Guess I'm done trying....it's a sad time...I was really wanting to give this a go....but I haven't gotten any reply from LL....seems they don't want me to even SEE if i wanna try this out or not.....

Guess i save some money on this game....
