can't even install

I just downloaded the new version of Secondlife and the program won't even install on my computer. I then redownloaded the new version directly from the web site.... same thing.

Decided to delete the program from the computer using the add/remove in xp.... downloaded a totally new version and tried to install that and it still will NOT install.

AV and Firewall are turned off so that shouldn't be a problem with the install.

My Desktop is an AMD Dual core 4400 with 2 megs of ram and an nVidia 7900 video card with 256 of ram.

This is very frustrating. H E L P ! ! ! !

Hi Katrina,
Its a bit misunderstanding what you mean with "will not install".
If you remove it from the software add/remove in xp then it was installed. Are there any error messages or more information?
Its difficult to guess your concrete situation.

Does the installer window at least appear? Or does it appear but disappear as the installer crashes?
It would be good to describe the last few moments you see of sl on your screen.
