I'm currently looking for a new laptop, as mine finally let out all of it's magic smoke.

Does the HP 8710w with it's nVidia Quadro 1600m play nice with SL?

What I'm looking for is this:
Ideally, it would be a 15.4" WUXGA, but I will settle for a 15.4" WSXGA+ or 17" WUXGA.
High amount of processing power and graphics power, I also do video DJing as well as video editing and HD video playback. I would prefer a laptop with a Trackpoint style pointing device like the Thinkpads have, I have grown accustomed to it, and not sure if I want to go back to a touchpad. Battery life is not a high priority, as I tend to almost always use it plugged in. And I'd prefer it to have either an nVidia 8600, 8700, or the new 8800 video cards, but I know that severly limits my options...

Anyone have any reccomendations?
Thanks,
Flip

It should do well. In the past year I've purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad (XP) and HP Pavillion (Vista) with updated media cards similar to what you are considering...and both work GREAT with SL.

its not offically supported, and quadros are not really meant for realtime3d gaming (+ these new ones are stripped out "poor mans" cards a decent quadro would cost ya a few grand)

could be worse tho
