Lost Vehicle -- Not in Lost And Found???

So I'm new to flying vehicles in SL, I messed up and went off a sim and into the void, my vehicle disappeared and I got a message saying that it would be returned to me in my Lost And Found. Surprise! It's not there. In point of fact, I'm sorta wondering if I've got some kind of defective Lost And Found, 'cause I don't think I've *ever* had anything show up in there.

I don't suppose there's any way I'll get my beautiful Ceros back, is there?

eeeh let me guess, no copy vehicle?, i lost objects with no copy in sims scattered over, they where never returned, pretty much as fun as deleting a no copy object on the ground, wont come to your lost&found folder.

*shrug* vehicles in SL, dont like them maybe someday

Did you relog to see if it came back?, asset server can be wierd with objects and wont show them till you relog.

And if all that fails, IM the creator, I have lost a few vehicles and they are been really great about getting one back to me

Hey Jessica. The Ceros should be copyable. I've dropped a new copy on you. If the copy perms are still not enabled, drop me a line. As a vehicle designer, I think it's vital that vehicles be copyable.

I don't know if you were doing this, Jessica, but it is something I've seen people do, and it's a mistake in the case of vehicles.
Drag the item to the ground to rez it.
Don't drag it to yourself then select "drop". This will take it out of inventory even if it is a copiable item, and will leave you with nothing if SL eats your vehicle (which SL is prone to do.)

Just putting this out there for people to be aware.

I have some physical items on my land, and every once in awhile they go offworld for no apparent reason. Maybe 1 out of 10 times are they ever returned to my Lost & Found folder. I finally had the creator give me several copies of them instead of asking for a new copy each time. I filed a bug report, but nothing ever came of it.

It's not just your Lost & Found, Jessica. It seems to be something related to physical items.

I get mess sometimes that tell me things have been sent back.. (I dont miss a thing) and then I look in Lost folder and there are nothing)))

Thanks everyone -- especially you, Ardith, for coming to my rescue and dropping me a new copy-able version of the vehicle without me even asking (the version I'd had was an early beta). Now I know better.

(BTW, if you haven't seen Ardith's Ceros airship, you're missing a treat; it's better looking than anything I saw in Revenge Of The Sith last Sunday)
