are there other methods?
I tried a html tunnel I tried barracudadrive
I dont know if the problem is that im not setting these things up right, or if they dont work.
I really need a way for this to happen otherwise Im going to be out of commission.

More info about your firewall, please? Is it your personal firewall (which works fine), or a corporate firewall? Using a VPN will not work because VPNs require both ends to have matching software. SL is directly on the internet, no VPN access required. You do have to have some ports open for SL. From the Second Life FAQ ( http://secondlife.com/whatis/faq.php) 18. Will my firewall prevent me from accessing Second Life? Second Life needs to connect to ports 443/TCP, 12043/TCP, 12035/UDP, 12036/UDP, and 13000-13050/UDP. You should configure your firewall to allow outbound traffic on those ports, and related inbound traffic.

hahah, its a corporate firewall

it is corporate firewall
i thought that was too obvious, only its not corporate but same concept
its an external firewall, to say the least
so ...i could use a tunnel to connect to one port
but how to i connect to more than one, or in essence how do i do it?

How far do you get? Do you get the initial login screen, and then it just does nothing?

Hmm farther than I thought. I think you may be out of luck unless you can convince your firewall admin to open up some ports for you.
Unless you are a bit of a networking wizard, in which case you could use something like Hamachi out to one of your home PCs, and then use an application sharing package (there are freeware ones) to run SL on your home PC, and basically proxy the app back to you at work. But the performance would probably just be awful.

From: Mr Bacon i get to the region waiting for handshake thing
then failure Um...... you might want to log in another location on SL. From the login screen. Better yet send in a support ticket about this issue. I know they have taken care of such issues in the past.. Try it it does work. Usagi
