Is anybody else getting random waves of lag when trying to browse the forums?
It'll be working fine, then suddenly will take 5 minutes to load a page. On my HIGHSPEED connection. x.x
Is it just me or are other people getting it too?
If it's just me I suppose I'll have to talk to my boyfriend (who is massively more tech inclined than me... he damn well better be, it's his job XD) about what he recommends for heavy cleaning to make sure my spyware scanners and the like are catching everything that's coming in... though I never had a problem with it before. *kicks computer* You're new, you're not supposed to crap out yet!
Hm, why do I ramble in every thread?
Anyway, am I the only one getting the periodic forum lag?

Same same. And this includes using one of the various school machines that should never have viruses, etc. because they re-image the hard drives anytime something goes wrong with it and then every quarter they wipe all of them and reimage.

Oy... and it's worse today. Feels like I'm on my parents' old 28k dialup.... and this is highspeed. >.< *pokes at it*

And ditto here, taking forever to load a page/forum thread etc, so much so I often give up. Other times it's fine though, so yes it seems random. Is it the forum server, or a network DNS type thing, I dunno..... and

From: Dee Firefly And ditto here, taking forever to load a page/forum thread etc, so much so I often give up. Other times it's fine though, so yes it seems random. Is it the forum server, or a network DNS type thing, I dunno..... and I run a local DNS server on my computer using TreeWalk making browsing alot faster on my DSL wich is a side effect of necessity for me. Back when I first got DSL I installed TreeWalk because Verizon was having serious DNS issues and this was my quick fix. Compared to my mother's Cable connection my DSL is surprisingly faster at looking up DNS entries because my DNS server is local. And seeing how during all my forum lag it says "Waiting for reply from forums.secondlife.com..." down at the bottom of firefox my money is on either server load or network latancy issues on LL's side.

I have recently found that while the main pages load ok, often the links to threads will actually stop working. Sometimes if I click a link it will work after about two or three minutes; on other occasions I get bored and close down the forum without knowing how long it would take. I have waited for ten minutes on occasion.

It has been happening to me as well. I noticed on the grid I was having very high ping to sim but not to me in many places I visited. Maybe SL is outgrowing their provider.

Yes - main page ok, links to thread stop working. This has been for the past 2-3 days.
I've tried it via Firefox and via AOL, and it's the same thing. Other websites are not behaving this way.
