Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this in but..

What would be the specs in a laptop to run second life decently?

Would a 5400 rpm HDD be acceptable? Or should it -atleast- be a 7200 rpm hard drive?

I`ve concluded you should have atleast 1 gig of ram.

Is there a preferred amount of hard drive space?

What about the processer? I prefer pentium M's in laptops. I would think atleast a pentium m 750.

I guess i am just really curious about the HDD speed. Would 5400rpm on a pentium m 750 processer be fine?

Oh and this would probably be running with an ati x600 or x700.

Thanks :)

(Side note: I have an 80 gig, 7200rpm HDD, 1 gig ram, pent m 750 processer, and running ati x600. It runs sl fine. But a new laptop is being purchased and I cant seem to find any decent ones with the 7200 rpm HDD so need to know about the 5400)

Jesseaitui, I don't think that the HDD speed would matter all that much. I believe that the HDD is mainly just used when starting SL and for storing the cache. However, if your laptop's internal HDD isn't fast enough for you, you could always purchase an external one that connects to your laptop via FireWire or USB and install SL on it.

I think that as long as your laptop meets or exceeds the System Recommendations, you'll be fine. Of course, adding more RAM or getting the fastest CPU your laptop supports may make things run a bit smoother, but you shouldn't go overboard. 1 GB of RAM is plenty. Just get the best options you can afford and I'm sure SL will run well for you.
