i was looking at my preferences while playing SL. I decided to enable automatic crash reports and i clicked "apply". Then my screen went funny. Everything appeared wider. Text, my avatar, furniture..... everything. The close tab at the top disappeared too. So I tried to reverse the action and it didn't work.
I reloged and still no change. So i restarted my Computer and that didn't work. Then i noticed, when i tried reloging for the third time, that on the start up window it said "Viewer will display full screen when logged in"
There was no option to change this. How do I fix my problem?? Please help.

Go to : EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> GRAPHICS : Display Resolution: Specify the resolution you wish to run Second Life in. Higher resolutions provide more detail; however, text windows will decrease in relative size, and certain configurations may have reduced performance with exceptionally high resolutions. Select Run in a window to run Second Life in a standard resizable application window, allowing you to shift focus to other applications like a standard program. You can also toggle between windowed and fullscreen mode by pressing Alt-Enter. see : http://secondlife.com/app/help/technical/preferences.php#id175469

If all else fails, completely remove SL from your PC, including all files in the cache folders and reinstall. Only a last resort as you will be treated by the client as a newcomer.. confirming this and that, along with those 'useful' hit drop down boxes. A bit like Vista, only it goes away. Have you tried pressing the F11 key? Pressing once takes you to full screen, again returns you to window mode.

Actually that sounds like you were running it in windowed mode, and switched to full screen.. Just go into edit.. preferances.. graphics.. then click the tab to put it in windowed mode..

Opps... well as long as its a good dance, you have discovered another 'SL' feature lol... F11 is the 'standard' swap key for switching between fullscreen and window mode, but this IS SL.
