I know everyone is having there own log and teleport problems and there doesn't seem to be a fix which I have read. I have tried just about everything, I say just about because there must be one thing to do.
You have been logged out of Second Life (hmm dont I know it?)
You have been disconted from the region you were in (at my home or anywhere I am at the time)
Click continue to look at existing im and chat (why? "I" cant do nothing)
You will not be able to perform any other operations (duh!!! dont I know that, scrub the top option then)
Click Quit to exit Second Life imediately (well theres no more that I can do)
This is happening to me all the time and becoming so fustrating. I cant join in with the people that I have made friends with, I am vertually trapped at the place I live and when SL does allow a teleport to go thru, I end up disconnecting after a few other times of trying to move around, all the same way. PLEASE HELP ..if my settings are out or there is something that I can do.. please help me find a way or help me put things right.. I am getting past the fustrating stage and I am getting so close to that last Quit and exit button for good
My System Operation is :
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Ed.
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
Computer :
AMD Sempron(tm) Processor
3000+
1.81 GHz, 512 MB of RAM
VIDEO :
NVIDIA 7600 GS/AGP
256 MB GDDRII/128 bit
I dont know if this helps but it is AGP 8X and I know that the DirectX is all up to date.

So if there is anyone out there that might be able to help, I would be greatfully appreciated. I did try to boost up the Vertual Memory like someone did suggest but still nothing works.
OH yes another thing, is it true that now u cant ask for Tech help via e-mail unless u are a full subscriber. If I paid for Second Life and not be on Basic, should my game play better or will I get better advice from Lindens? HMMMM worth a thought

Tech or region probs

I only just noticed your post and hopefully you've got it all sorted out since. Is the problem just specific to where you live in SL or everywhere?
I've had so many problems with regions suddenly becoming unusable I'd suspect that was the issue before I blamed your pc. After spending a fair bit of money on some good land in SL it went from low lag and no probs to 'sticky' and endless failed teleports overnight .. coincidentally straight after a viewer update.
Linden support was as usual non existent, so my only option was to cut my losses and sell .. wasn't amused.
I hope that you've got things to work in the last fortnight though;

Thankyou for ur responce and yes I am still having problems when teleporting. It happens when ever I try to go anywhere, to any part of Second Life so theres no certain place that it happens. I am sorry to hear that u have had the same problems, I really dont wish them on anyone and by the sounds of it u have lost a lot thru it to. All this problem happened since an update to, one minute all was fine then the next it was all screwed up. I am hoping that maybe in time it might go just as easy as it come.

Tia,
I don't know if it will help, but going through the knowledge base to try to solve my problem, I found something about firewalls (if you have one) and ports having to be open.
The change had occured after a wiewer update (1.13.2)
I just copy and paste here what I found about that (and I hope it can be of any use to you) . Good luck :

Unusually restrictive firewalls block teleporting
If your firewall is blocking outbound TCP port 12043, the following activities won't work:

Teleporting
Viewing the World Map
Crossing regions
Related activities
This is because in Second Life 1.13.2, we've enabled Capabilities, which require outbound traffic to communicate with our servers.

So far, we've found this to be a very rare occurrence involving unusually restrictive firewalls, and should not affect the majority of Residents. So chances are this does not apply to you, but in the event that it does:

To resolve this issue, what you need to do is allow traffic on outbound TCP port 12043.

Some corporate firewalls that restrict all outgoing TCP connections need to either:

Open outgoing connections to this port on our nets.
Handle these connections the same way they do other HTTP and HTTPS traffic (in theory, by redirecting it to a proxy).
For more info on firewalls, see:

How do I configure my software firewall?
How do I configure my hardware firewall?
and for specific instructions not covered here, consult your firewall's manual.

Further technical details about Capabilities, also known as "Sim-Caps", can be found in the Official Linden Blog post "A big change you'll barely notice" by Zero Linden.

Sign me up too.

I basically can't teleport AT ALL. Same goes for region crossings. At 4 AM local time SOMETIMES a TP might get through. My only way to move from place to play is to log out and use SLURLS. It's extremely frustrating.

I don't have a firewall issue - if I did, no TP would be possible at all. All ports are open. The hardware is functioning. Besides I'm on DSL, with a double core processor and strong graphics card.

There is one thing I was wondering about: Does it really happen more frequently to people from Asia? I'm located in the Middle East. I talked to some people in world who had the same issues. Many of them were from Asia. Maybe the physical distance and number of nodes needed to reach SL is crucial. We are basically on the other end of the world. My connections runs through Europe and New York first, then reaches SL. Might this be the problem?

I experience this issues when using my laptop at home. But when I was on vacation in Europe, all the problems were gone, using the same computer and the same wireless connection.

I've had the issue, so have a few people I know, and it's not limited to where you are.
This strange random bug took three uninstall/reinstalls for me to get rid of, and a few more for one other.
With, of course, the usual clear cache, check drivers.. blah blah blah (by now who wouldn't do that automatically unhelpful advice).

It's not the best of solutions, but sometimes it can help.
Good luck,
Threshin
