Hi everyone,

I have a brandnew notebook with a ATI X1600 videoboard in it.
Now the strange thing I have is that if I disconnect my power supply from the laptop, SL freezes up and locks my LT completely.
I have to disconnect the battery to get it rebooted again.
I don't have this problem when I'm other applications running besides SL.

Anyone heard of this problem before or has any suggestions?
Yes, I'm using the latest video drivers. :-)

Thanks for the help !

Sounds like it doesn't like going into power conserve mode (when you go to battery power), not sure what programs you have running that control that besides Windows, you will have to investigate what the manufacture gave you and fiddle around with the settings.

Striker thanks for the feedback.
I don't run any other programs which manages my power options.
In addition when I run SL, I try to minimilize the nr. of programs running. Mostly it's just Norton Security (gettin rid of in a month or two when the license expires) and the usual drivers like: soudn, printer, etc...

I'll see what I can find in the windows settings...

Both Windows and you BIOS are programs that manage your power.

You could well find that your CPU clock speed is changing, and that your GPU clock speed is changing, and even that your GPU is shutting down some features O.o

One thing to try would be to disconnect the power, and then run SL to see if it works at all in that state. Try to determine whether it is the _change_ of state that is killing it, or if it is simply that something it needs is disabled in battery mode.

Thanks Bitzer. It's the change of state that causes the lockup. I can run SL without any problem on battery, but when I connect or disconnect the power it locks up.
In the Windows panel there is not much I can change, so I'll have to see if I can change something in the Bios.
