How do I make Second Life full screen? When I start it up it gives me an error and the only option from the choices that I can choose is to go full screen but I don't know how.

When you start up (doubleclick) on Second Life, then you'll see the "splash screen" with a big eye-in-hand in the middle. On that screen will be a blue button that saith PREFERENCES. Click on that, then click on GRAPHICS, and you'll see the options for changing resolution, fullscreen, and all that.
Best of hope, and hope you can get inworld soonesque, Seera!
