ATI graphic card help

My friend has an ATI graphics card and he started the game and it crashed and it said he had to download new drivers so he did and it still wont work. Is their anything special he needs to do?

Geez, give more details than that. It could be something besides the card. The problem could be insufficient memory, a bad connection, other software running (spyware/virus), a thermal problem with the case/notebook....

I use the latest ATI drivers with my 9600pro and only crash after fighting the camera while building (it wants to rotate 180 degrees or zoom in/out when I don't want it to), or when I create a sphere prim with a thousand twists and local lighting enabled and zoom in close (crashed instantly when I did that last night.)

ATI Radeon series has major issues with layered transparency and textures.

Suggest he ditch any video card with a manufacturer that begins with A and replace with one with a manufacturer that begins with N. :D
