Hello

Can anyone please offer any advice on getting SL to work on my computer. Its running Win XP on a 2GHZ P4 with an nVidia MX 460 card but SL won't start saying that either the card or its drivers aren't supported.

SL's requirements seem to suggest it should work with an nVidia MX 460 card although I'm not certain. I've downloaded the latest nVidia drivers for XP and carried out clean installs of SL but no luck. I know the MX 460 is a poor card in the Geforce 4 range and wonder if it is actually supported.

Strangely the latest driver always force the machine to start up in 800x600 16bit color although it works even in 1600x1200 32 bit color and runs World of Warcraft just fine.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

It seems that i don't fully understand how updating the nVidia drivers works.

I installed the 93.17 version allowing the nVidia website to choose the best driver. However, after installing it SL still complained about unsupported driver or card.

However, when I went into the "My Computer: Hardware : Video Adapter" settings and allowed Microsoft Windows to update the driver this fixed things. Windows found the best driver itself!

My SL now works just fine.

I hope this helps someone
