probally would be painfully slow
normal hard drives are slow, and were talking millasecond seek times and nice wide busses with hundereds of megs of bandwidth

the best option i have is to modify the desktop icon and add -purge to the command line. thats what i do. It makes Sl clear the cache after every logout. BUT it doesnt clear it entirely. The cache is very messy and leaves up to 4GB worth of useless garbage behind.

For grins I once cleared out my cache and set my cache directory read only. Take my word on this. One is better off with a cache directory one can write to, even if cache is severly broken. Why did I do this? Look at my name
