Help! Problems on sim...

I'm writing in the forums as a last resort for help with this issue, after contacting LL via bug reports and support emails. My partner and I purchased a 4080m2 parcel in a mainland sim. We found soon after moving in that script performance is horrible. Scripts for poses and animation overriders take forever to start. There is no other lag other than with scripted items. We have a radio ball that spits out a listing of 72 different stations in under 15 seconds on other sims, yet it takes 9 minutes to do the same thing on ours. My HUD radar tells me how often it updates, based on sim performance. On other sims, it's between 1 and 3 seconds. On ours, it's normally 14-15 seconds.

Now, today, scripts are running worse than ever, and my hud updates every 40 SECONDS now!

What, if anything, can I do to find out what is causing this problem if I am not the owner of the sim? What tools are available to me to monitor performance better than using my HUD radar?

Maia... awhile back but that was the first... and several others.

Okeydoke here's what to do:

Go to HELP MENU and get on LIVE HELP and ask for a LINDEN LIAISON. Tell them you're having SCRIPT TIME issues in your region. See it by doing this:

CTRL-SHIFT-1 and then see where it says TIME (MS), well click on that and look at SCRIPT TIME which should be a lot higher!!!

They'll take it from there! :)

Midnight City also has a noticeable script lag. not enough to cause a problem but it's there. I actually wondered if they had somehow requested it from LL to give everything else a bigger timeslice ;).

Script problems

Well, I just got done speaking with a Linden Liason. First, he told me that the sim is functioning just fine!

After much discussion, I have another Linden running some tests with me now. He says that "Other" is the top stat, which is odd. I'll update when I get more info.

When I logged in Tuesday, I noticed immediately that things had been fixed. Script time went from .8ms to 15ms! Things were working as they should. Unfortunately, I don't know HOW the Lindens fixed it, but I had a team of them on my parcel on Friday helping to troubleshoot it. I appreciate the level of customer service I got from them after following Torley's advice.

It would be kind of them to share this somewhat vital information with us on the off-chance that there is something we can do to mitigate it.

In my somewhat limited experience, the fix seems to be to reboot the sim, which more or less means they have no idea what causes the problem - which would go a long way toward explaining their deafening silence.

Glad you got some Linden to do whatever it was. Which, of course, begs the question of what you do the next time it happens. Lindens, help us help you; a little communication goes a long way.

Well, the first thing they did was reboot our sim, and the problem cleared up for about 5 seconds. The did something, and I'm dying to know what it was.
