So I updated my driver for my soundcard, and everything works perfectly (media player, my recording programs, everything). The moment I start SL though, no sound comes out of my PC period. Even from SL. And media player runs, but no sound. As soon as I close SL everything is back to normal. Anyone had a problem like this before (I'd prefer not to roll back the driver if I can help it).
I suppose it might help if I tell you it's a Soundblaster Audigy 2.
