Exposeing Data localy

On an admitly quick search I was unable to find any info on if any data is localy exposed for the posiblity of use for other programs.

The reason for my search is that I just got a Logitec G15 keybaord that has a LCD screen on ot to display data. The ablity to look at local data, could be usefull. It could also be used for other plugin type aplications (Seting a message on yahoo messanger with your curent sim/parcle) I think getting the FPS, Data rates, and other Debug type info would be good for anyone that is obsed with that type of infomation (Including peopel withing Linden labs) LCDStudio is an intersting concept sence it can run various types of LCD screens and had a verry RAD look and feel. I also know that for the G15 there is Both C++ Iib and .net componets.

If this information is already exposed to local systems a pointer in the right direction would be nice. if it is something that is there but curently undocumented what are the chances of getting even basic documentation on it. And if it dose not exist yet what are the chances that infomation like that will be out there.

and addtional question would be what are the chances of alowing a few scripted variables to be exposed (BTW I am thinking read only on all of these) so that it would be posible to design a script that would expose a data set that could be read with a local program, even one string at a time would alow for external development. I am curently looking at getting a second monitor for my system and being able to change some of my scripts (like radar) to read a string and phrase the data for display on the second monitor, or external window in windowed mode could help reduce screen clutter.

3rd and final question where would be the right place for talking about hardware like the keyboard, it has programable keypad and would like to be able to discuse my ideas with others. Right now I would think scripting but would like to know if there is somewhere better before I start posting.

thank you in advance

AcidRaven, some of what you mention sounds familiar. I'd recommend you talk to Kyrah Abattoir--she has some similar thoughtlines. I'm going to move this to Technical Issues for further discussions. Some of what you want may be doable with:

I was not looking at running a full server type program on my computer. I am not wating to have an object create data on your server and then have it go to my computer when the data is already on my computer. The SL client knows what sim it is in, linden balance, FPS(and I think that could only be done localy) why create a extra stream or two of data?

And I am not suprised that no one has posted anything on this. I just thought that it would be easyer to ask about the data and haveing it changed so it can be accessed by external programs insted of us haveing to hack out memory probes to find the right data.

So anyone know how exactly you do that? Or should I see what can be done about the libsl stuff and decodeing the packets for the information that is there. anyone who has any ideas let me know
