Borked!!

Ok so I logged in, took 5 minutes or more, which is fortunate compared to some who can't even log in atm. Not a problem, I went and made a coffee while I waited.

Then I went about changing to my group so I could add more items to my main store. For ages my group name has appeared as (???) on objects I own, but should say Polygon Elite. Don't know why, but it does. I changed group, at least I thought I did (I don't show my name above my head because it's a pain while building), so upon hearing the 'click', I then drag copied my vendor, changed it's name and contents... no problem.

Two attempts to upload the ad .jpg for it, both fail (and no, it's not a big file). Meanwhile, my autoreturn is counting down, and the vendor I just created ends up in my Lost and Found. So I checked the group in the autoreturn message... said (???). I rezzed the vendor, group said (???). I waited to see if it autoreturned and it did.

So I gave that up and decided to do a Search for my group, just to see if it showed up normally for everyone else... the window sat there in search mode for more than 10 minutes (again went and made coffee while I waited). Came back, still searching, so I called it a day, logged and came to write this. I didn't dare try to take snaps for my next vendor, just in case lol.

Anyone else having these problems?

Yes,.. as far as anyone I talk to says they confirm the same problems.

When you Drag Copy venders... it causes problems >.< Some times things don't copy properly. One thing to remember is when you do that the one that's moved (that seems like ti is the copy) is actually the original. The one in the location the original was in will now be a copy and it will have the Group Tag you are wearing the time you drag. The Old one which you likely think of as the copy, some times ends up with a previous group tag.

The (???) everyone has been experienceing. However, not everyone would with prims/objects. Most people just attach and detach things,.. they don't place things or pay attention if they do.

So while everyone is haveing that problem with something,.. they are just unaware.

It's supposed to be something that can be worked on to be corrected,.. but it returned after they work on it and there is a long list of items, groups, and sims effected... so it's takeing weeks to get around to some of them. Then it just returns.

I've been haveing a Retro problem as well you may have had. Land will return to a previous stat in the settings. Objects will do the same but not physically.

Thanks KittyCat for your reply. I should clarify the vendor is not a scripted one, but rather just a box selling contents. And yes, the one that remains stationary is the copy when drag copied.

I did log in a couple of hours later, was able to see my group on all my objects, tho I didn't try the Search, and also took about 15 snaps with no hassle before I logged out again. My guess is it was just a severe case of lag during the previous log in, and because of all the other 'more than usual' problems over the last few days, I had a bit of a stress

I am sure you can understand the frustration felt by creators/merchants when SL is playing up when you decide to log in, one of very few opportunities you actually do have more than just a few minutes to spare, when the toddler is asleep and not climbing all over you
