Alrighty, so... my computer has been out of commission for a few weeks... I finally just bought an entirely new AMD64 machine. I installed all the win2k updates, installed Second Life, tried to fire 'er up, and I get this message:
"The dynamic link library DINPUT8.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\Program Files\SecondLife;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT; C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem"
(spit into several lines to not mess up the thread formatting)
I have already tried completely wiping out and reinstalling, several times. No luck. Any help? Thanks!

Try reinstalling DirectX http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspxDInput is the input portion of DirectX. Your path looks OK... (the DLL resides in winnt\system32). If that doesn't help, check first that the DLL exists there, and secondly that you have the appropriate read access to it (check NTFS permissions). Hope that helps, --- Zebra

Zebra - I figured that out about 2 seconds before your post. I assumed dx9 would have been installed along with my video drivers... guess I was wrong! Thank you! -edit: ARGH! Now I get nothing but a black screen on startup for SecondLife... are the latest drivers from nvidia still b0rked?
