This is a new one on me... it happened after a trash-emptying crash and relog. I logged back in, TPed over to pay my rent, TPed back to my home (using an LM, not the "home" button) and my avatar was no longer visible on my screen. Not even the name tag. XD

Tried the escape key to see if I was in mouselook, tried rebaking textures (which may have worked, but since I couldn't see my av, well, I couldn't tell) ...and I didn't get anywhere near another avatar during any point of the process, didn't press any new or unusual buttons, was visible until I TPed onto my front lawn and then gone. Could still walk about and open doors and things as usual, though positioning myself was a bit tricky. Relogged again and all was well.

Did I find a new bug, or does my avvie have a secret mutant superpower?

This has been happening all weekend. Sometimes teleporting from one place to another fixes it (while other cases cause it), and sometimes just going into Appearance mode is enough to see yourself again. Other times though a relog is required.

Many times this weekend I've heard people saying "Where is everybody? I hear you talking but I can't see you!" so it's not just your own avatar going missing on-screen but other peoples' too.

I've also noticed rez times in general taking longer when you port someplace.

Oh, how weird! Thanks for mentioning the port/appearance fix, I'll try that if it happens again.
I'd never seen it before, even this weekend, so... was a bit concerned about it. ;)
