What are your system specs? What router do you have? You have the latest video, motherboard and sound drivers for your system? Wireless? More info the better.

Hello. First thing, you mention running Trend Micro and AVG. Running 2 antivirus programs at the same time is not a good thing. The problem with it is you can run into compatibility issues and they will crash each other, cause irratic behavior etc.

2nd. Do you run these at the same time as SL? try turning off all non essential things, like antivirus, printer monitors etc.

3rd. Do you connect through a firewall or direct?

4th. as far as figuring out what the specs of your system are. Try clicking Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information
The first page is a system Summary. Copy and paste that info here. Also, on the left hand side of this window, click on Components, then Display. Paste that info here.
Now click Problem Components. If there is anything listed there, paste that info to us too.

When you do all this, one of us may take the time to lookup your hardware drivers and post links to the latest ones for you. If you can also tell us the brand and model number of the PC and any upgrades you have done that will be the most useful info of all.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm... you have intigrated video on the motherboard and a 5200 video card, have you disabled the onboard video in the bios? This may be causing conflicts if it hasn't. Also, the Nvidia drivers look like they need updating, you done that lately?

Ok great.

1st. http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Onboard/Integrated-Video-On-Your-Computer
This is an explanation on disabling the onboard video card as you seem to have a pci Version card. I would go through these steps to clear up any issues that might be causing.

2nd. http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
Go there to download the newest drivers for your Nvidia 5200 card

3rd. To make it real real easy for ya.
http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp
That is Gateway's site for drivers. If you put in the serial number on the computer, it will find and download all of the most current drivers for all the equipment that came with the computer. I would do this before anything else. Any equipment added after buying the computer will need to be updated via those items' manufacturer's sites.

Hope this helps
