Im not sure what the deal is, but almost every time I login it tells me that there is a new version of SL and I need to download it to play, so I download, install, and play, and next time I play I have to do it all over again.
Is there a way around this problem?

They tend to put out several bug fixes , after a major update like this, now we are up to Second Life 1.7.1 (2)

Sometimes if you use autoupdate, it sometimes corrupt itself and want to download everything every time you download (why i always use download on download page on SL , and never autoupdate, that one vary alot tho)

Notice the announcement forums.

There actually *has* been 2 (or 3?) new versions released today.

This is rather.... unprecedented. We've never gotten more than 2 patches in one day. I'm sure we had 3 today.

dang that's crazy. you'd think they'd wait a couple days and push a bunch of fixes at once. Having to wait 10 minutes before logging in every single session is really getting lame.
Anyway thanks for the responses though. Its good to hear that there's nothing wrong with my computer or something.

[carefully weighs the number of emails he'll receive that a key feature is broken vs. the number of emails he'll receive that there's ANOTHER update]

Well, the optimal goal, of course, it get everything fixed as quickly as possible. I get to download each update same as everyone else, and like most people, I usually had something I was going to do right away when I log on. ;^)
