I am having trouble signing in.
I get past Entering Login Queue....
to Contacting User Server...
And it sits there until it times out back to the login screen.

Try these pages for more information:
"Connecting to User Server" http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=TechUserServer "Connecting to Region" http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=TechContactingRegion The User Server issue could be a wireless or firewall problem. The Region problem can probably be fixed by changing your login location. Details on each link... |

Lee - I've noticed some similar behavior before. Note that the PC I run SL on is connected via copper and is not behind a wireless router - although I do have a wireless network *bridged* on my local network.
Often, if I'm trying to login during a peak time, or the login queue is especially busy for some reason - I will hang at the "connecting to server" screen (Which I understand is normal). Sometimes, after a few minutes of hanging, it will dump me back to the main login screen on its own (I'm not sure if this is normal). At that point - I think its unclear whether you're still supposed to wait.... or re-enter your ID & password again & reconnect. I think this behavior is what some may be trying to relate here...
