hello i just created an account and downloaded and installed the client i can walk around fly i can chat with others but i can not click on the "click me" hands or on myself i searched the fourms but i havent seen anyone with this problem so please if anyone knows what is going on let me know any and all feedback is appreciated!
Maybe this isn't it, but I think it's an OpenGL/vram problem.
I believe that the SL client reserves a slice of video ram as a "pick buffer".
In addition to what is displayed on the screen for every object, there's an
unseen layer that contains a number that ID's every displayed object.
This makes picking an on-screen object really easy. Instead of having to
perform essentially a ray trace, calculating what your mouse is pointing at,
the client just needs to read the number under the cursor in the phantom
buffer and poof! it instantly knows the object of interest. It's clever, fast,
and simple.
What may be happening with this user's machine is that vram is somehow
over allocated or mis-configured and there's no pick buffer available.
When they click on something, the client just thinks they are picking into
empty air, and so no pie menu, no anything.
Yes, the SL client should detect this and gripe to the user. It's indeed a bug
that should be fixed.
In the meantime, perhaps you have a separate control panel to configure your
video card? Try lowering your depth buffer setting if possible, or some other
similar setting.
This is of course speculative on my part. Perhaps a Linden can provide insight here.

Come see what may be SL's biggest Christmas tree in the games2 sim.
