For some reason, a bunch of people are hijacking the remaining free prims on my piece of land and filling them up before I have a chance to use them. The objects they fill them with are invisible, and each time I return the objects to their owners, they just send them right back. In fact, this last time, they overflowed my land with prims, and I had to clean house before any of my stuff got deleted.
Is there any way to prevent this? I'm getting tired of trying to build up my land, only to find out I can't put anything else on there because someone else stole the free prims I was going to use.

Talk to them. If that doesn't work, report them. That's not called for, really. Sorry to hear your trouble!

First thing I would do is abuse report them. Go to About Land > Objects tab and refresh to see who they belong to.
You could set you land to No_object which will prevent others from rezzing objects on your land.
Others may have more/better suggestions.

It could be an auto-rezzer -- try setting NOBUILD mode on your land and see what happens, run some tests... also, I'd IM the owners of the objects and ask them what's up, 'cuz sometimes it could just be an experiment gone awry and they will be genuinely sorry.
If it keeps persisting, ask a Linden to come help you out and see what might be going on. Best of hope with it, it sure sounds annoying.

I find and return objects belonging to unknown people on a regular basis in Cincta and to a lesser degree in Portage which is a more remote location. I really appreciate the new tool which allows for the identification by name since there are objects belonging to others that I do not want returned. I have yet to actually see anything, though, and figured that the items were up in the air. The items have been from 2-30 or so prims which can add up if a few people don't bother to clean up after themselves. The owners have been new for the most part so I attributed it lack of knowledge rather than rudeness. However, during a recent routine check I found 302 prims attributed to an older resident with only 2 prims left to spare on my allotment. IThe person was online, had no idea what it could be, did not live near Cincta, and had not been in the new continent. I returned the items and she received nothing in either her object or lost and found folder. Unless someone has created a 300 count Invisiprim, I'm stumped.

curious. Are there any scripts in the prims? Does the sim slow down -a lot- once they rez in?

The op indicates that they are invisible and I couldn't find a 300 prim object anywhere inspite of taking a careful look about up to 1000 meters. Can't check for scripts on something I can't locate.
