This is a little funky - it says on my "Friends Online" list on the member area of secondlife.com that some people are online who don't show up as online in-game. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think that is likely because the web list gets delayed information from the world or maybe it only updates every N minutes. Even in-game, sometimes position is not "globally" known as you may try to map a friend and see the beacon in the sim corner, when they are really in the middle.
It is nothing you are doing wrong. If it really bugs you, send mail to [email]support@secondlife.com[/email] but I'm guessing this is not high up on their priority list.
