This Wednesday was an example of why clubs and places like that should not hold events on Wednesdays. The downtime for "presence issues" basically told everyone "Forget any events you have planned for this evening."

I really wonder if opening SL right after an update on Wednesday is a bad idea. I think that Linden Labs needs to implement the update, thoroughly test every possible scenario that can cause issues, while the grid is still closed. Only after they are sure that no problems are going to crop up, they should then reopen the grid several regions at a time instead of all at once. That way, if something does come up, minimal time is lost repairing the issue.

Since Ive joined Second Life, we are 1 - 4 in 5 updates without secondary shutdowns

Just my two cents. Linden can take it any way they want.
