I crash after about 3 mins on game. I have been crashing more and more in the last 2 months but today has been horrible. I have made sure my drivers are updated, Ran scan disk , checked for spyware etc. Its not my computer as I dont crash off game . And when i say crash i mean my whole computer freezes. I have also turned down all options on game. Can any one offer any advice. Thanks

Ok what kind of videocard are you using and how much ram you got? These two things can help us alot to figure out your problem. Also heat could be an issue if you're videocard's fan has stopped or you haven't cleaned your case out in a while.

I am having a similar problem with the crashing. Drivers are updated, computer scanned, defraged, anti-spywared, anti-virused.

Running an AMD Anthelon 64 2800+ 1.8 ghz chipset with an ATI Raedon 9800 all-In-Wonder, Soundblaster Audigy Gamer, and 512 ram.

Same here, it was never a problem before, but now it's constant, often to the point of crashing every 5 to 10 minutes. I'm guessing that something has changed in a recent update that doesn't agree with our systems, either way it is something I hope to see righted quickly? I'm certainly not having much of a Second Life whilst this continues.

Pentium 4 2.53Ghz, 512Mb Ram, Radeon 9700 Pro, and a swear box full of coins.

Are all you guys using Radeons? If so give the Omega drivers a chance. I hear the Catalyst drivers don't like to play well with Second Life.

I've uninstalled the catylist drivers and replaced them with the Omega drivers but i still get frequent crashing.

Yeah, I am in the same situation:
Pentium 4, 3.2 Ghz, 1 gig Ram and Radeon 9550
It does indeed sound like Radeons and SL are not mixing happily anymore.

Please could someone tell me what these new drivers are, and do they help?

I just increased my tier and have big plans, and am going rapidly crazy at crashing every few minutes!

Are you doing anything specific when you crash?

I had a similar problem whenever i opened a menu - camera controls/edit window/ all the rst.

It turned out to be my shockwave and flash programs were borked somehow. Uninstalling the then redownloading and installing sorted my problems out. :)

I found a more drastic solution...I formatted my drive.

I have also crashed more in the last few weeks. 2.93GHz, 512mb, Intel grapics media accelerator 900 with 128MB VRAM
I would say since 1.7.1 update I have crashed more and more. My freezing occurs when I go into inventory or in appearance mode.
Recently de-frag and run spyware about twice a week.
